Giving is a Privilege for Us
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? “ Romans 8:32
Giving reflects a grateful heart that wants to give God the first part of our money on the first day of the week to show that God is first in our life.
Have you ever thought of the fact that scripture never really records Jesus giving any money to anyone? Read Matthew 17:24-27. When you think of generous living, Jesus leads the way. Why do you think that is? Could it be because Jesus knew that giving is not just about money, but an action of the heart? People tend to look at the size of the gift or the nobility of the cause, but Jesus looks at the heart of the giver - a radically different perspective on giving.
We want you to understand that giving is not just about our money, our time, or our abilities - it's really about deepening our faith in God. It's about a life change, both heart and mind. It's about transformation - whole life transformation that is so awesome. It's about surrendering ourselves and returning our money, time, and abilities to their rightful owner - God.
We believe that Christ-followers should be the most generous people on earth. The church should reflect the radically generous character of the God we love & serve. Generosity is an active acknowledgment that God has given us everything we have. We will be generous...to those around us, those who are part of our community, those who lead us, and those around the world.
